Kanji Game: “Add Two Strokes to 口”
I am grateful to my seventh-grade son Sean for introducing our family to
the following kanji game. The four of us spent a happy hour challenging
each other on our knowledge of kanji. Try this game by yourself--or, far
more fun--with friends or family members, perhaps even your Japanese teacher.
And if you discover some additional correct answers, please send them to me for posting.
Directions: You will need a pencil and paper. Draw the kanji for 口 (“mouth”) on
the paper and add TWO strokes (only) to make a new kanji. See how many
answers you can come up with. Then scroll down to see 28 possible answers,
listed according to grade level. Here are two example answers to get you
started: 田 石
Oh, come on, don’t give up yet!!
